Friendship

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends!!  We are having  a wonderful visit with my family!  We had a wonderful Christmas day together, had DeLuxe Fish 'n Chips for lunch today, bought several bags of  Ketchup chips, and now tonight it is snowing!!!   :) :) :)

These last couple of weeks have been so busy that I've not been able to craft or visit my blog friends, and I'm sorry for not stopping by to see your creations!  I will be back home on Saturday night and I hope to get back to "normal"!   Our printer needed some attention so I have not been able to print any digital stamps.  I made this card but never posted it, so I thought I'd do it tonight.

Merry Christmas to you!!!

I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas!!!
I hope and pray you have a wonderful day with your family and friends celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ!!

Today, I am with my family, and we are sharing Christmas with my parents, sisters, niece and nephew!!

But it is Tuesday and that means time for a Tuesday Morning Sketch!!  This is sketch #178, but we have no sketch!!  8-O    Today, it is an "anything goes" challenge.  But it is also a judged challenge, and the twist is that we are asking for you to try a new technique to do something that will challenge you!  You know... use the new paper crafting supplies and/or toys you got today!! :)  We are asking you to challenge yourself and bring your A-game!!!

Melissa is sponsoring this challenge and the winner will receive a package of goodies!  I can guarantee it will be fantastic!

Here is my project...  I made a calendar and used my Bind-it-all.   This project certainly was a challenge for me!

I used the 2013 Mini Calendars from Daydream Designs.

There are 6 pages each with a month on both sides.  It goes from Jan to June, then the other side is July to Dec. (Except for the one page I got mixed up!  Oops!!)

I embellished each page a little bit.

This is the second side.

~Basic Gray "Recess" paper
~chipboard base
~MME Lost & Found
~Spellbinders Labels Four, Fleur de Lis Squares, Doodle Parts
~Memento Tuxedo Black and Lady Bug
~Daydream Designs 2012 Mini Calendars

So get your game on, challenge yourself, and share something wonderful with us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!!!

Tuesday Morning Sketch #177

One week until Christmas!!  I'm so excited that I'm "going home" for Christmas!!   We're going to be with my parents, and I'm really hoping New Brunswick has snow for Christmas!!  (Just don't want it falling next Monday when we are traveling!!)

I'm sorry I haven't posted since last Tuesday and haven't visited many blogs and commented!  Many things happened to keep me away, and then my laptop fell on its head and had to see the doctor.  :(  Thankfully, I got it back yesterday, so I will feel 'with it' again.  I hope to get some crafting done and do some visiting with you this week before we head north!  Can you believe that I still need to make more Christmas cards??!!  :0

But now it is time for another Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge!!  For this challenge, we are using Angela's awesome sketch...

Our sponsor is Bugaboo!  So many fun digis, so little time!!  A big "thank you" to the folks at Bugaboo who generously provided the team with images!!

Is there anything cuter than a sock monkey??  I have made them for gifts, embroidered them, and now I colored one!

Isn't he just the cutest little guy??  I put Glossy Accents on the snow but the shine isn't visible in the pic.  I need a snow pen!!

~Bugaboo's Winter Sock Monkey - ski
~Paper Studio "Jolly holiday" DP
~Spectrum Noir markers

Challenge...
Paper Playtime #91 - winter fun
Paper Pretties PPMC70 - create a Christmas creation

Tuesday Morning Sketch #176

Two weeks until Christmas!!  I'm still making some Christmas cards though by now I should have been done and had them in the mail, but I'm just a little slow!

Time for Tuesday Morning Sketch #176.  This week is a judged challenge!  That means a chosen winner and a Top 5 (if we have enough that qualify).  To be eligible for the judged challenge, follow the sketch and do the twist.  This week our beautiful sketch is by Cheryl...

And the twist...non-traditional Christmas.   Our sponsor is Debbie, a Close to My Heart consultant.
Our very own wonderful Theresa provided us with CTMH stamps to play with!  Thanks, Theresa!!   I used the "Glory to God" set...

To me, black and white is very non-traditional for Christmas!!  I've mentioned a time or two (or a dozen times) that I'm very much a red/green Christmas kind of person, but I am pleased with this card!!
I embossed the image and some stars on the background

Be sure to check out my amazing fellow designers' creations for inspiration then play along for your chance to win!!

Sympathy, new life, and Christmas trees

A little bit of everything in this post...

I printed some digis a couple of weeks ago and used one of them this weekend.  This is a sympathy card using a verse from Daydream Designs.  I'm submitting this card to Word Art Wednesday #57 - giving/anything goes.

This  verse is from the Design Team Scripture Set 1

Now on to "new life"!  My niece had a baby boy in October and I put vinyl on a onesie for him...
My kids want sweatshirts that say the same thing! :)

And finally, Christmas!  We had our ladies Christmas party at church this past weekend.  I was sick most of last week so many things I had procrastinated too long to get done planned to do, I did not get done.  :/  I did manage a few paper trees for the tables that turned out ok.   I found these on Pinterest though I had to search and search for the post!  So then I pinned the actual post.  Click here to see the Pin.  Pardon me while I rant a little... Link to the POST not just the BLOG, people!!

I'm entering my trees in Decorate to Celebrate's challenge #39 - holiday choice
Couldn't find red doilies, so used Valentine leftovers!
Cut stars on my Cricut and adhered with a toothpick
I also made the favors.  I saw and loved this one that Melissa had made, so went looking for instructions and made them using K&Co Mod Holiday double-sided DP cut to 6x6.

I forgot to take pics of the other side... it had another piece of chocolate and a tag wishing them a Merry Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Oldies but Goodies - Doodle Pantry Blog Hop

Welcome to Doodle Pantry's Blog Hop!!
We are featuring some "oldies but goodies"!!

Vintage and retro are in!!  I'm okay with that, but doesn't it make you feel old when you see something you had just a few years ago and it is now retro or vintage??!!  I remember my grandmother laughing at folks getting so excited about antiques... she wondered why they were so eager to buy the "old things" that she had been so happy to get rid of!    Some of the showcased images are vintage style but all are older stamps that we want to take another look at!!

*Laurie has put the featured images
(and a few more)
in the Digi Grab Bag for 25% off*

You have today and until tomorrow night, Dec 9, at midnight EST, to visit and comment on our blogs.  One DT's  blog will be chosen randomly and a commenter will be chosen randomly to receive a $20 gift coupon to Doodle Pantry!!

**Be sure to visit Doodle Pantry for
the 35% off Sale going on until Jan 3**

If you arrived from Ellen's blog, you are on track.  If not, you can start at the Doodle Pantry Challenge Blog or use my list below to see all the wonderful creations by our talented team!!

I used MS and Spectrum Noir markers, cut my image with Spellbinders Labels Four, embossed the white with D'vine Swirls, inked the edges, and added a bow.

My images are from Vintage Place SettingA table set for Christmas with china and silver is sooooo beautiful!!  I love to use my Royal Albert Tranquillity china that has a gold edge like this plus some tiny flowers, so this set just called to me!  :)

Can you relate??  Saw this on FB and it is so true!!

Your next stop is Georgia's blog.  Here's the entire list if you need it...

It's Tuesday and time for Tuesday Morning Sketch #175!   This week, we are sponsored by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.   They have really cute digi stamps, clear stamps, and dies!!  Play along this week and you could win!

Here's the sketch...

I would have made this card is a little differently had I been thinking correctly!  I was a little mixed-up and had "non-traditional" on the brain when I made it.    I actually like it, but this will probably not be a color combo I use often!
But it works for Sentimental Sundays challenge #131 - non-traditional Christmas colors :)

Snowbaby birthday

I love snow!!  We had a few flurries last week and I got a pretty picture of the snow on my greenery outside, but now it's all gone!  :(  Have I mentioned that I love snow?   When I was a kid, I was always excited when it snowed on my birthday which is near the end of October.   It didn't usually stay, but it was fun while it lasted!  I will have to admit that last year when it snowed on my birthday, I had to drive from Maryland to upstate NY in snowy weather on horrible roads, and that was not so fun!!  Though I was trying to get one of the ladies with me to be taking pictures as we drove along because it was so beautiful! :)

Why was I rambling?  I got to thinking about all that as I made this card. :)

I used a recent release from Daydream Designs... Snowbabies Color Digi Set, Snowbaby Sentiment Set, and Winter Chill Digi Paper Pack

My printer does not do justice to the beautiful bright colors that these really are!   These sets are so fun!!  And a great value!! Check them out at Daydream Designs!

Babies don't keep!

*Scroll down or CLICK HERE for my Tuesday Morning Sketches post*

Have you ever read or heard this poem?

Babies Don't Keep

I hope my children will look back on today
And see a mother who had time to play.
There will be years for cleaning and cooking
But children grow up while we're not looking.
Dusting and scrubbing can wail 'till tomorrow
For babies grow fast we learn to our sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs and dust go to sleep
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

I'm not advocating against cleaning your house... I'm just reminding us all to enjoy our children at every stage!!  My "baby" is eleven now!   Too big to rock but I am thankful that he has a tender heart and still love to hug and be hugged lots!!
But, he's growing up and getting new interests... Angry Birds!  I know I am probably one of the about 5 people on the planet who have never played Angry Birds!! :-O  Well, I did play a bit with this spinner card, so maybe there's hope for me!

He loved it!!!   He also liked the Angry Birds shirt and tie from his sisters!

He got cupcakes because the cake I made (tried to make!) overflowed and ended up burning on the bottom of the oven!

For my card...
~paper is all scraps
~Angry Bird designed in Make the Cut and cut on my Cricut
~"Feast of Flesh" font -sentiment computer generated

Tuesday Morning Sketch #174

My "baby" is 11 yrs old today!!   I cannot believe it!  My children are all growing up too quickly!!   Be thankful for your children even on the days when they make you want to list them on eBay!!   :-)

Time for another sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches #174...

Our sponsor this week is DRS Designs.  They were wonderful and allowed the DT to choose stamps to use for this challenge!!  Thank you so much!!

My husband is a pastor so I selected 2 stamps that I know will get much use... Calla Lily Sympathy Frame and  Counting the Years Greeting for weddings!!   I made 2 cards since I didn't think those 2 stamps would combine very well!

Here's my sympathy card...

My wedding or anniversary card...

Christmas Poinsettia

Today, Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the challenge over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ. This is one of my favorite challenges!!!   The SSIC DT is showcasing Christmas cards with Jesus as the main focus.  Awesome!!  After all, without Christ, there is no CHRISTmas!!!

I'm trying to make more flat-ish cards so they will mail without costing me so much!  This one should be pretty good...  a little dimension but no big bows or buttons.   Just a simple red & green Christmas card!!

I printed the poinsettia 3 times, cut the whole flower, then the middle for just a little dimension.

Christmas snow globe

Not a real snow globe... just a card with an adorable snow globe on it!    I was so excited this afternoon when we actually had some snow falling!!!  It didn't stick but at least it was coming down!  I can hear many of you groaning as I say this, but I LOVE SNOW!!

Sentiment... who needs it?  I always say that when I forget one! :/
Isn't this guy adorable??   This snow globe is from Daydream Designs.    It is from the Let it Snow Color Digi Set.   It made me laugh as I checked my post... my computer does have spell check so I get a squiggly red line under misspellings, but since some are real words and it doesn't catch them, I need to.  I often spell "gut" instead of "guy" and did it here.  It struck me funny since the snowman does have quite a gut!!!

Challenges...

Wags 'n Whiskers #93 - Christmas

Supplies...

Have a 'jingle holiday'!

Just a fun Christmas card for a boy.  I usually think of giving to whole families when I make cards, but my kids do like to give to their friends, so I hope to get several done for them.  I meant to post this last night so am doing it while the turkey cooks! :)

I love fancy folds, but when making most cards, I get it done and then wonder if I could have made it with a different fold... only it's a little late then! :/ But this time I made a step card.

Challenges...
Cards for men challenge 24 - Merry Christmas
Stampin' Sisters in Christ #166 - card for a child
Paper Playtime #89 - anything goes
Playing in Paradise PPC#93 - CASE yourself -I CASEd THIS CARD

I used Doodle Pantry's Little Deer, one of this month's new releases.  I got the card together and realized that I had printed the deer WITHOUT the bells!!! :-P  Just imagine there are bells, ok??

Thanks so much!!

With American Thanksgiving next week, many challenges have Thanksgiving or thank you card as the theme.  I made a thank you card.   I love Thanksgiving and am very thankful for the many blessings I have in my life, but I've just never sent Thanksgiving cards.  I do use a lot of thank you cards, though!

Tuesday Morning Sketch - tear bear

Time for Tuesday Morning Sketch #172!!  It's such a fun challenge this week, too!!   Our sponsor is  The Beary Scrap...

This week is a judged challenge.  That means follow the sketch and the twist in order to win!  We also choose a Top 5 in our judge challenge!

The sketch...

The twist...
Create an animal with punches or make a tear bear!!
(If you're not sure what to do, Google "punch animal" or
"tear bear" and you'll find ideas.  You need mulberry paper for a
tear bear,  but any paper will work for a punch animal.  It is amazing
what  you can make with plain old circles from a punch!!)

Here's my card...
After my bear was together, I realized I had not inked my edges. :(
I have always thought tear bears were so cute but all the mulberry paper I had was so thin that it would not work.  Soooooo... I  purchased some mulberry paper (from The Beary Scrap) in order to make a proper tear bear.   I did not use a Beary Scrap pattern... I eyeballed it and made my own circles and then fluffed the paper.  It is so fun!!!   The Beary Scrap has much more than just tear bear patterns and mulberry paper, so be sure to check them out!!

I've been using my supplies on hand and have not spent any money on crafting for awhile as we are trying to watch our pennies.   I was able to shop because the sweet ladies at my church gave me money for crafting for my birthday!!   I'm having great fun spending it!!   The other day, our family went out and I made everyone go through the line so I could use lots of coupons! :)

~MME Sweater Weather DP
~Recollections cardstock
~Beary Scrap mulberry paper
~Spellbinders Doodle Parts
~satin ribbon from J's
~Paper Studio snowflake brad (it sparkles but can't see it in the pic)
~MTC to cut the nose, eyes, and antlers
~black and white Gelly Roll pens, Copic for blue part of eye
