Boxed note cards

This is a quick set of CAS embossed note cards in a box to give away.  I'm trying to have a few things done ahead so that when I need a gift, I have it.  I thought this would be a good one.  I hope to do some craft shows eventually and this would be a good item for that, too, I think.

challenges...
Cuttlebug Spot - "box it"
clean & simple 175 - sketch
BBTB2 - Dimensional flower

The box is the crayon box from Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cut at 8 1/4" I think.  It fit on a 12x12 sheet.  The swirl is from HA.  The flower is from April Showers cut 4 sizes.  The dsp is Fancy Pants, I think.  Basic Grey brads for the latch.

I used Glossy Accents for some shine and dimension.

Four cards and envies fit inside.

This was such a great sketch!!

All stamps were from Inkadinkado.  Divine Swirls embossing folder.

Stars embossing folder.

Perfect Paisley embossing folder.  Silk flowers from my stash.

Swiss Dots embossing folder.

And today is January 31!!  Supposed to be winter!  Our kids are taking ski lessons!  I live in upstate NY!!   This temperature is terrible!!!  I WANT SOME REAL WINTER!!!!!!  (the snow was soooooo sticky today!!)

Boy's easel birthday card

When I began to make cards, I had a lot of trouble with masculine cards.  They are still not my favorite, but I found out that having the right paper helps.  :)  A while ago, I got the DCWV All About Boys stack.  It's great!!  Whenever I need something for a boy, it works for me!  And I've used a lot of it, so I must need to go paper shopping again, right??  :)

Challenges...
~Birthday Sundaes #41 - easel card (b'day wording on front)
~Cards for men challenge 2 - "boys and their toys"
~Celebrate the Occasion #47 - masculine birthday
~Tuesday Morning Sketches #130 - sketch

"I Love You" Valentine card

It could work to give to just about anyone that I love. :)

~Basic Grey Wassail dsp

Easel Christmas card

After cooking up a cheesecake and some cookies, I was able to 'cook up' a card, too.

I wanted to make a triple easel, but can't figure out how to make the triple easel I saw on a blog.  I know how to make a triple easel, but the dimensions of this one escape me.  I'll keep trying! :)

So this is a simple easel card.

challenges...

Sweet n Sassy Digi Challenge: SNSDC37 - make an easel card, use a digi

Yummy cookies!!!

I have this blog to share my crafts, but surfing the web, I have found so many wonderful recipe blogs and so I've posted a few delicious recipes, too.  This one is awesome!!  Do you like Oreos?  Are there people who don't??!!??  Do you like chocolate chip cookies?  I know there is not a person on earth who does not like chocolate chip cookies!  This recipe combines them!!  :)

Chocolate Chip Oreo Cookies!!!  (click on the name to go to the recipe)   I found these at Lovin' From the Oven.  I have so many recipes from there bookmarked that I want to try!!!

Here are a couple of pics of mine...

They really are yummy!!!!!!!  But we found that they are better cool.  I LOVE choc chip cookies warm, but the Oreo taste is more prominent once they are cool.

CAS-ual note card

In viewing a blog this week, I saw a post for a challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays.  I'd heard of it before, but had never gone to visit.  Well, I visited the blog, liked what I saw, and wanted to join in, so here is my card for CAS-ual Fridays' challenge CFC36... in honor of National Penguin Day... clean and simple card in only black and white, not even a tad of color!

~Colorbok Textured white cardstock

~not sure who made the sentiment stamp.. from a clear stamp set I got long ago.

Sweet treats favor box/card

I was thinking it is about time to start thinking about Valentine favors, so I did some more thinking, came up with this idea, played around with MTC and came up with this favor box/card combo.  I'm thinking it's too big and heavy to put on the front of a 'real' card, so will leave it plain.  What do you think?
I promise I am now all done using the word 'think'!!

I dug out this paper, remembered the lollipop on Mickey & Friends and thought decided they would work together.  I realize it is not Valentine-y looking, but I think imagine my kids would still like it!  This actually looks more birthday-ish.

Challenges...
Bitten by the Bug 2 - numbers challenge
Fantabulous Cricut #95 - "Label me"

More pics and directions if you scroll down after this pic.

(the dsp and swirl both sparkle but I didn't get the right angle for it to show)

~Bazzill rose cardstock
~DCWV Sweet Stack dsp
~Slice Shimmer Pearl Vine paper
~lollipop from Mickey & Friends cut at 3"
~'just 4 u' from Alphalicious, welded
~label from Sentimentals, stretched in DS

Welded shapes to make box

Scored, added Scor-tape and acetate ready for the window

the window is in and the bottom is taped

The 'box' is 1 1/5" square, so I scored lightly for lining up where it will be taped

Adhered that side, then bottom

It took 6 minis but then I decided to fill it with Peanut M&M's

I am probably going to change the file a bit.  I'll make the shape more rectangle so it is not sticking out so far from the card.  I' also add side flaps at the top so the lid won't go in too far.  Otherwise, I was pleased with my first attempt at making a file for my own boxes.

So what do you think?  Oops!  I mean, what's your opinion?  :)

"Have a ball" boy's b'day card

Flowers and ribbons and all those type of embellies are so fun to add to my cards, so I find making cards for girls is much easier than for boys!   But once I decided on this image, coming up with something for a boy card was easy!!   I am really pleased with the result because those little 'gumballs' are just so cute!!

"Thinking of You" card

It's Friday evening and this is my first post of the week!  I had great intentions, but woke up last Sunday with a doozy of a stomach bug, so between that, kids' ski and music lessons, and some rough days of homeschooling, this week did not turn out as planned.

It was kind of hard to pick just one, so I'll post my top 5 leading up to 'the winner'! :)

Progress - more LO's!! =)

For my blog candy giveaway, click HERE =)

I've been doing some quick LO's because I really want to get last year scrapped.

Here are a few I've done in the last week.

For this one, I cut the holes in my 12x12 and put the pics behind.  The label and 'crash' were cut in MTC.  I made the warped label and the font is 'InkPen 2 chords'

I'll edit to add... no injuries, PTL!!!

Vellum sentiments from DCWV love stack

This one followed the sketch over at Multi-photo Scrapbooking Layouts Gallery. I sent it in for their Dec/Jan sketch challenge.

These pretzels really are worthy of their own page!!  We made them 3 times at home and then made them for our whole church!!   You can find the recipe here at Allrecipes.com  Yummy!!

More snow!!  The paper I used for 'winter wonderland' is Slice specialty 'metallic silver.'  In the second pic, see how thinly I could cut it??  I have a Cricut E, not one of the other pricey machines that will cut so well.  This paper is awesome!!!  I got a stack of it at an Ollie's so if you are near one, go look!
Impact and Loki Cola fonts cut with MTC
that is a regular straight pin

Cocoa+friends note card

I'm realizing that I need to keep a good stock of note cards on hand!  Don't you find it more enjoyable to write a note on a card you made rather than one you bought??   I still use those some.... cuz I don't have enough made yet!! :)

Winter LO

I've been doing scrapbook LO's for the past couple of days.  I planned to scrap 2011 as it happened.  HA!  I just finished February!

This is a snow LO.  We had so much snow last winter!!  (And sadly, hardly any this year! Sob!)  I'm beginning to learn my camera a little more so I hope this winter's pics will be better, but no matter how bad the pic, I think snow is beautiful!!!

I'm submitting this to Sketchy Thursdays challenge.  I like this sketch.  I actually did a couple of other pages with it, but they include people that I've not asked for permission to post their faces on my blog, so they'll just go right into the scrapbook.

~DCWV Holiday Stack dsp
