Tuesday Morning Sketches #163

Today, my thoughts and prayers are with those who lost a loved one that terrible day!!  But I am very thankful for the many heroes of that day!!  And the many heroes since that day!  Time goes on, but may we never forget that day!!

Time does go on.  It is a great blessing to know that the sun will rise tomorrow and season follows after season.  Fall is a wonderful season of the year and we are welcoming fall with this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch!

Here is our awesome sketch by Dawn!!
This week is a judged challenge and that always brings a twist... this time it's "Welcome Fall"!  Our sponsor for the week is Designed2Delight, so if you follow the sketch and follow the twist, you could win!!

Swing fold anniversary card

I love fun folds in cards but am often not organized enough to make them unless I "have to"!   Easel, stair step, tri-fold, cascading, and criss-cross cards are some that I have made but this is my first swing fold card.  Sometimes called a flip flop card.  I watched a youtube video, made a file for the base in MTC (because my cutter does not have measurements on the cutting bar), and here it is.

I used Doodle Pantry's Cornflower and colored it myself.  This month, the colored version is one of the new releases.  This week  Robyn's Fetish Challenge is more than one fold which Doodle Pantry is sponsoring.

I had also printed out a 'with Sympathy' sentiment to obviously make a sympathy card, but I realized I needed an anniversary card quickly so added 'Happy Anniversary' to the inside instead.  Don't worry!  I don't think these friends even know I have a craft blog so they won't be offended that their card was originally going to be a sympathy card! :)

Pull the sides to see the 'inside' (took this before I added the pearls)

back view when opened
This was fun to make!!  Since then I found directions for using dies and making the edges of the cut decorative! :)  Will have to try that!

Made with scraps, scraps, and more scraps!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Now I need to go pack... I'm leaving for England next Sunday!! :) :) :)

"Celebrate you' birthday card

Here's a birthday card made with some colored digis from Daydream Designs.
I love the digis and bright colors of it, but am not too thrilled with  the distressing.  Have you ever started just to add a bit to the edge and "oops!" get more than you intended?  Then it's like cutting hair... you have to keep going to make it all even.  8-(  There is much more "Peeled Paint" than I intended, so just ignore it, ok?

Challenges...
Stampin' Sisters in Christ #155 - birthday card **they are having a birthday blog hop, and you can grab a freebie from Diane, too**
Card Crafter's Circle #39 - Sweet as cherry pie (My cake is sweet!  I hope it is eligible because (don't tell anyone) I don't like cherry pie!!

Tuesday Morning Sketch #162

Happy Tuesday!!  Time for another Tuesday Morning Sketch!!

Today's challenge is extra-special!!!  This week we are sponsored by Doodle Pantry and I love to use DP images, but I am now on the Doodle Pantry Challenge Design Team, so today combines 2 of my loves!!!!

Be sure to go to the TMS blog and check out the rest of the DT's creations, then grab your supplies and play along with us!  You just might win some Doodle Pantry goodies!!  And if you use a Doodle Pantry image (there are some freebies), you could also enter it in the Doodle Pantry Challenge and double your chances of winning!! Be sure to go over to Doodle Pantry and check out the new releases!  They are wonderful!!   Laurie is having a Labor Day Sale now, too!!

I love this week's sketch by Melissa...

Here's my card using one of this month's new releases... Moose
~Basic Grey DP
~Doodle Pantry Moose pre-colored image and sentiment
~AC ribbon, SU button, and hemp cord

Here's another card...I was working ahead on my TMS cards and made this one a couple of weeks ago. Then I realized I'd be on the DP DT by this challenge, so made the one above with the new release.   I like them both!

I'm going to enter this one is Card Crafter's Circle Challenge #38 - "for the fellas" -card for man/boy (actually these are both masculine cards but especially the car)

I'm thinking this one could be a birthday card or just a note card or to start a new category... maybe a "happy day off" card!   Well, wouldn't you like to receive a "day off" card??  You'd probably just rather have a day off, right?? :)
Actually, this will most likely be the birthday card I send to my dad this year.  He's a car man!!  When my parents were dating, he actually owned a Model-A or Model-T (I can't remember which) that had a wild paint job!!  No, he's not THAT old; he just had a really old car.  He wishes he still had it, too!

Baby talk onesie

I'm overdue for a baby gift :/ so made this onesie quickly last night.  Using the heat set vinyl is so fun because the possibilities are endless!!  You can put just about anything you want on one.  I cannot even remember where I first saw this quote but I did see it several places, so can't really credit one.
The font is Impact
Then I realized I had no baby gift bags so made this one with scraps, corner rounder, border punch, ribbon, and a sticker.

And today is the launch of a new challenge blog... Anything But a Card.  The name says it all!  Go check them out!  The first challenge is "anything goes."

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

Let's get Doodle-ing!!

Good morning!  I'm so excited to announce that I am now a part of the Doodle Pantry Challenge Blog Design Team!!   And I'm honored to be a part of this great group of very talented ladies!!!
Doodle Pantry digis were some of the first digis I used and I love Laurie's fun designs and digi papers!!

So... here is my first Doodle Pantry Design Team card!
Pardon the 'dirty snow' falling!!  Might have been better un-inked!  This is inspired by a 2005 PageMaps sketch.
This month, Laurie has some wonderful new releases!!  There are some great new sets plus some newly colored versions of a few previous designs.   You definitely want to go take a look at Doodle Pantry!!

Don't forget to join in September's challenge, too.  It starts at noon EST today, the 1st.   Every participant will receive the featured digi free!!

Laurie has a Labor Day Sale through Sept 9.  Plus, she is offering a 'free with purchase' digi until the 24th.  To check out all the specials, click HERE.
