Thinking of you - TMS #396

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!   I like to have pretty basic/generic cards in my stash that will work for anyone/anything... though sometimes even then, I don't find one to fit the recipient. :/  This one should be suitable for many occasions and for just about anyone...

My paper is We R Memory Keepers Cakes and Candles.  The striped paper's holes were made with a fun Fiskars border punch.  My image is Raisin Boat Oops a Daisy.  I fussy cut it and popped it up.  The square is cut using Spellbinders Celebra'tion Pierced Squares.  The polka dot paper and blue mat behind it were cut using Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics.  The tiny banners were cut using Simon Says Stamp Tiny Tags.

Here's our wonderful sketch for the week...

This week Tuesday Morning Sketches is sponsoring with a $10 shopping voucher... to the online store of your choice!  How awesome is that!!!!

Joy - CCC #9

Happy Sunday to you!   It's time for Christmas Card Challenges!!

This was fun to make!  I colored two mittens from The Alley Way Stamps, fussy cut them out and popped them up on the panel.  My paper is Carta Bella Snow Fun.  My panels are all cut using Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics.  The sentiment is cut using Die-Versions Stitched Nesting Circles.   I though it needed just a little something more, so I added the black enamel dots.

Christmas Card Challenges #9 has an optional word prompt this week...

World's best coffee - TMS #395

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!!

Before I get to my card, I have to show you my SNOW!!!  This was my yard last Tuesday when we got over 24" of snow!!  I was so happy to finally get some snow!!  It was coming down at the rate of 4"/hr at one point.
See our cars??!!??  I promise they are under there somewhere...  (It took my kids and I quite awhile to dig them out...  can you believe my hubby was in CA??!!??)

If you know me, you are probably wondering at the title... if you don't know me, I'll explain... I do not like coffee!!  I don't "go for coffee" the way most people do... my only hot drink is hot chocolate.  (By the way, Busch Gardens in Williamsburg has THE BEST hot chocolate on the planet!!!!)  Anyway, this card is for either my daughter or one of my coffee loving friends.  It was fun to make even with this image. :D

'Tis the season to shine - CCC #8

Happy Sunday to you!  It's time for Christmas Card Challenges.

I love my card for this week!  It was fun to make and (after a few ruined tries!) it turned out great IMHO. ;)

My first into-the-garbage try was because I didn't place the ornaments in the right place.  Duh!!  Next, I had a problem with the string on the middle ornament because the stamp wasn't quite long enough with this placement.  I used my Mini MISTI so I could line it up perfectly to lengthen it but forgot to clean the stamp before setting it down... my finger bumped it so it left a little ink in the wrong place.  Duh again!!  The next one was coming along well, but I didn't realize I had ink on my finger until I noticed a black blob in the middle.  More grrrr than duh!  Finally, I got the strings placed well and added the ornaments.  Using the Mini MISTI was great because I could stamp with Versamark, reink, and stamp again to be assured of a nice full heat emboss...

It's so beautiful IRL!!

Supplies...
Raisin Boat Holiday Hangups clear stamps
We R Memory Keepers Whimsy EF
Offray gold ribbon
Versamark
MS gold embossing powder

Our optional prompt for this week's challenge is a photo challenge.  We'd love to see how this pic inspires you... I was inspired by the gold on white.  {Remember any Christmas/winter holiday card works, too.}

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Rosy hello

Wow!  It's been awhile since I've had 2 posts in one day.   Earlier, I had "rosy congratulations" and now I've got a "rosy hello"....

I had some extra time to craft this afternoon, so I made this card to play along at Mojo Monday.  Mojo Monday was the first challenge I ever played with when I started my blog in 2011, but I haven't played along in quite awhile.  I loved this sketch, so I created this card.

Supplies...
Crate Paper DIY Shop
Spellbinders Heart Circles die
Memory Box Virtuoso Music die
QuicKutz Rose die
Art C small doily
Hobby Lobby ribbon
JustRite "Greetings From London" sentiment
Here's a closeup... it's hard to notice in the big pic. ;)

Challenges...
Dies R Us #68 - something new + must use die (Rose die and doily are new)
Fab 'n' Funky #341 - music or inspired by a song (I did music)
Scrapy Land #61 - anything goes w/ die brand SL carries (Memory Box, Spellbinders, QuicKutz)
the Paper Shelter #284 - circles/dots/stripes (I used circles)
Mojo Monday #487 - sketch

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed weekend!  Stay warm... our temps are dropping way down again.  Brrrr!!

Rosy congratulations

This card did not end up the way I planned when I started ((does anything ever??)), but I was pleased with the result.

My paper is Prima Romance Novel and I distressed the edges with my Distrezz-It-All.  My rose is Die-Namites Rosy Rose.  I cut it in both rose and light gray cardstock and adhered them together slightly offset to give it a little dimension.   My sentiment is Raisin Boat's All the Write Words.  I heat embossed it.  The ribbon is from my stash.

Challenges...
Word Art Wednesday #272-273 - anything goes/family friendly
The Paper Players PP334 - theme: cut it out (dies, punches, fussy-cut, etc.)
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - For a special lady/girl (this is definitely girly!)
The Ribbon Girls - March card challenge

Thanks for sopping by and have a blessed day!!

Warmer winter?

When I made this card on Wed (and did not get it posted then), the temp was around 70 F, so I didn't think that my winter needed to warm up!  (In fact, I wanted it to cool down and snow!!)  Today it's in the mid-20's, and tomorrow's forcast high is 13 F and windy!  I might be looking for warmth then!! :D

I printed my image on Kraft and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and a white Galaxy marker.  This cute little guy is From the Heart Stamps "Little Snowman."  He's cut out with Die-Versions Stitched Nesting Circles.  The Heidi Swapp striped vellum behind it is cut with Spellbinders Standard Circles.  The sentiment is cut with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics.   The background DP is Carta Bella "Snow Fun."  My snowflakes are the Paper Studio.

Challenges...
Cute Card Thursday #467 - anything goes
A snowflake promise #37 - anything goes/opt twist Valentines (I did AG)
i {heart} sketches with a twist #164 - sketch and/or color and/or twist (I did sketch)
